I had done my homework long before our shaky littler car rolled into Safi, the village celebrated as “the pottery capital of Morocco.” I knew precisely what styles I was looking for and precisely how much I was going to pay for them. So as I strolled through the ceramic souks, my eyes scanning literally thousands of pieces of handmade pottery, my focus was narrow and intent. And then…I saw them. These drop-dead-gorgeous platters cloaked in the most vibrant blue stopped me in my tracks. Each one is gingerly painted with a keen eye and a steady hand, with detail so fine it resembles a delicate lace. The sublime matte finish is the crowning finish to these chic works of art. A pre-drilled hole on the back of the platter enables easy display. Measures: 8” across. The small platter is featured in the middle of this photo. Care Instructions: Gently handwash and allow to air dry. Platter is water-resistant, but not food safe.
