Camel caravans have made their way through the Western Sahara for centuries and Morocco was an important trade route for merchants working in the Middle East and North Africa. Nomads would trek for weeks at a time, perched atop camels in saddles such as these.
Our modern interpretation of the traditional camel saddle makes for a brilliant ottoman, small accent table or stool. Each handcrafted cedar wood base is artfully carved and stained by hand in Morocco, then finished with brass hinges. Supple leather is hand-embossed with traditional design motifs, then crafted into sturdy cushions with zippered bottoms. Each cushion arrives stuffed direct from Morocco and ready-to-use, with the emblem of the craftsman who fashioned it stamped on the bottom.
